Underwater concrete

When underwater concrete is cast, sludge inclusions can cause imperfections that will lead to extensive (possibly sand carrying) seepage when the construction pit is pumped empty. The connection to the vertical enclosure of a construction pit, generally sheet piling walls, also often display leaks. Prompt action is absolutely necessary here to prevent further damage as a result of desanding. An extra advantage of injection is that the delay to the construction can be kept to a minimum.

To increase its effectiveness, in the past B&W developed its own product line of injection substances that are specifically aimed at this segment. These are our acrylic gels, MBA4® and MBA6®. These injection substances are able to create flexible and strong seals and, depending on the situation, can be fully modified regarding transition time and hardness.
