Repairing subsidence of foundations and buildingsAs a result of building on soft ground or construction work nearby, buildings and infrastructure objects often show cracks caused by (irregular) subsidence of the soil. This subsidence causes permanent damage to a structure and may prevent it being used fully. Using compensation grouting B&W grondinjectie can reinforce the foundations under the subsided structures and bring them back to the original level again. This causes minimal nuisance. When lifting concrete floors in factories and/or extensions for example, our aim is that the production process can continue unhindered. Compensation grouting is injecting liquids under high pressure under the foundations of the structure, causing the soil to expand and the structure to be lifted and the soil strengthened. The lances used to inject the liquids are placed by drilling or by applying pressure. Compensation grouting cannot be used in all types of soil. Therefore a feasibility study must be carried out initially. B&W can supervise this study for you. If the feasibility study shows that compensation grouting is a possibility, then the quantity of injection liquid, the depth of the injection and the grid pattern of the lances must be calculated. During the work the upward movement of an object is closely observed using a laser that can accurately register the changes to the mm. During the injection process the injection pressure and the number of litres injected by each lance are also registered. After the work a report can be drawn up for the client if required.
