Horizontal soil injectionBuilding sites are rare and thus expensive. Therefore it is attractive to not only use the height but also the depth of the available area. However, construction underground is confronted with a gradually increasing number of limiting measures. While underground or partially underground construction is being chosen more frequently in areas with a high groundwater level it is just these projects that have to deal with restrictions applying to the temporary lowering of the groundwater level. This development has resulted in our organisation searching for and finding alternative construction techniques, whereby lowering of the groundwater level is less essential. B&W uses the horizontal soil injection method. This is an existing method but carried out with new (state-of-the-art) technology and is very competitive. This technique creates a horizontal water-retaining layer below the level at which the construction pit will be excavated. This method is particularly useful if a natural water retaining clay layer is absent.
The horizontal soil injection technique requires very thorough preparation. Naturally a professional geotechnical survey is necessary. To determine the correct depth of the injection layer a balance calculation is made. Both the survey and the calculation, either singly or combined, are offered by B&W Grondinjectie.
Professional, thorough preparatory investigation, automated execution and then control of the groundwater level: B&W can do all this.
